A few pandemic related delays and cancelations to protect our community later, and MST is proud to have been so active hosting and producing activities in the community through 2021 and 2022

  1. Michael Termine Memorial
    1. On August 27th, 2023 MST was honored to host a heartfelt memorial for Michael Termine, a beautiful soul who lived his life with an extended chosen family of artists. Michael’s family and friends have deep ties to MST – we were privileged to walk through the building with some of the people who built our theater and hear stories of its early days. We are proud to be the current stewards of this space! Many thanks for the generous donation to the theater from Michael’s family and friends and thank you, Michael, for being a part of MST’s story, and loving the arts as much as we all do! ♥
  2. Pride Panel
    1. The Village is hosting a panel discussion on the transgender experience in Oak Park from 6 to 8 p.m. next Wednesday, June 28 at the Madison Street Theater. The event is presented by the Village in partnership with @Oak Park Area Lesbian and Gay Association +, PFLAG and the Oak Park – River Forest (OPRF) Chamber of Commerce. The panel will be moderated by Darien Marion-Burton, Chamber of Commerce Board President. Admission is free but space is limited. RSVP at http://evite.me/XkUzH33bpk.   10. Giving Tuesday 2022
    1. Since 2012 #GivingTuesday has been a movement to highlight philanthropy on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving.
      This year, November 29th 2022, we invite you to participate by joining our Take-A-Seat campaign!

      1. 16th Street Theater Opens Man and Moon Tonight! October 21st, 2022.
        Man and Moon by Siena Marilyn Ledger is the story of Aaron, a transitioning man, and Luna, a 12-year-old girl with a deep passion for outer space. Together in the lobby of an Oncology Unit, they learn how to wait as they navigate their changing bodies and circumstances within the expanse; this is a story of friendship.

  16. Legacy in Concert
    1. Catch Justin Reynolds NEXT WEEKEND performing in Legacy In Concert on June 3rd and 4th 2022
      Born in Los Angeles, Justin has been performing his entire life. Most recently, he was seen as Smokey Robinson in the Broadway National Tour of “Motown the Musical” and in “The Marvin Gaye Musical.” Justin has also headlined on the Las Vegas strip in “Vegas! The Show” at Planet Hollywood. After 25 years on stage, and a passion for highlighting diverse triple threats, Justin created LEGACY.

  17. Friday the 13th
    1. Looks like Friday the 13th really is the unluckiest day of the year! Due to concerns revolving around COVID-19, MST’s Friday, May the 13th, 2022 Comedy Event is being postponed to a later date. Thank you for your continued support and we hope to see everyone at Madison Street Theater soon!

    1. Valentine’s Day has come and gone…are you feeling the hangover?
      Join MST on Friday, Feb 18th, 2022 at 8PM for a full night of comedy to kick the holiday to the curb!

    1. This New Year’s Eve 2022 concert unfortunately was cancelled. 
  22. Holiday Kick Off
    1. On December 4th, 2021, after filling cookie tins and bellies with hot chocolate all afternoon with @downtownoakpark for Winterfest, join MST at 5:00PM for an evening of music performance, storytelling, and sing-alongs on our main stage.
      Musical guests will include Oak Park River Forest High School Show Choir Noteworthy and The Caroling Party, who will lead a sing-along for the audience to participate in the joy of the season! John Paulett will invite the audience in for readings of the holiday stories of yore. And at the end of the night, Santa Claus himself will be paying the theater a visit for pictures with everyone in the audience.
  23. Veteran’s Show
    1. November 11th, 2021 A show for our veterans, by our veterans! Your host, Comedian Serena Monay is a United States Navy Veteran and comedian that loves to tell stories about her service time!

  26. Online Trivia & Take Out Night
    1. Madison Street Theater and Takeout 25 Oak Park are sponsoring an exciting community event on Sunday January 17th, 2021: MST Trivia Takeout Night. Here is the plan. Order takeout for 6:00 PM on the 17th and join Madison Street Theater for a free online trivia game. Get the whole family together to enjoy local restaurant food while we play a community-wide trivia game. Save the date / time now and watch this space for event access information.

Join Madison Street Theatre, home to Ovation Academy for the Performing Arts, on December 20th, 2020 at 3:00 PM for a free Holiday Broadcast of Ogden Nash’s comical poem “The Boy Who Laughed at Santa Claus” and “A Visit from St. Nicholas” by Clement Clarke Moore, read by John Paulett

  5. Legacy in Concert
    1. LEGACY is HERE and is moving FORWARD with an exciting performance March 12th 2020 at 7PM, regardless!! Please join us at Madison Street Theatre TONIGHT at 7:00PM for their complimentary performance. Causal, fun and a Cash Bar will be available!
  6. A Dickens Carol
    1. Before Scrooge, before Jacob Marley, Charles Dickens had his own ghosts to contend with. An all-new family friendly holiday tradition that re-imagines the story of Scrooge from Dickens point of view and real-life events. A DICKENS CAROL – written by Ned Crowley and produced by Madison Street Theater in collaboration with Ovation Academy for the Performing Arts – is not only the carol behind the most famous carol of all time. Its an all-new twist on a family ghost story that promises to melt the heart of any Scrooge out there. A DICKENS CAROL will play from December 5th – December 29th at the Madison Street Theatre.
